1 Scope

GB 46860-2025 is the Chinese national standard on unique product identification code for civil unmanned aircraft, in the field of aircraft and space vehicle engineering. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 2 December 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and takes effect on 1 January 2027. Classification: ICS 49.020, CCS V35. This document specifies the coding rules, registration and filing procedures, and product packaging labeling for the unique product identification code of civil unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Requirements related to surface marking, storage and safety, and reporting and broadcasting. This document applies to the management of the entire lifecycle of micro, light, small, medium and large civil unmanned aerial vehicles. This document does not apply to model aircraft and self-powered flying toys. Note

1.Model aircraft have size and weight limitations, cannot carry passengers, and are unmanned aircraft without automatic altitude and position holding flight capabilities.
