1 Scope

GB 40557-2021 is the Chinese national standard on specification for safe navigation of inland waterways high speed passenger ship, in the field of services and company organization. This document specifies the basic requirements for safe navigation of inland high-speed passenger ships, as well as ship maneuvering, navigation and collision avoidance, crew and watchkeeping, and passenger transportation. The technical conditions required for safe navigation such as baggage and carry-on items. This document is applicable to inland high-speed passenger ships navigating on our inland rivers and border rivers.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 High-speed passenger ship Ships rated to carry more than 12 passengers, with a length greater than or equal to 15m, and a maximum speed of not less than 3.70.1667m/s, or the captain 5m~15m (not including 15m), the maximum speed is not less than 3.70.1667m/s and not less than 18km/h. Note

1.The maximum speed (vmax) is the speed that can be achieved when the ship is fully loaded and navigating in still water with the maximum continuous power.

Note 2. is the full-load displacement volume of the ship, in cubic meters (m3).

3.2 Inlandwaterways Navigable waters in rivers, rivers, lakes and reservoirs.

3.3 Hovercraft When sailing, air above atmospheric pressure is used to form an air cushion between the bottom of the ship, the water surface and the ground, so that part or all of the hull is separated from the supporting surface. Ship sailing at high speed. [Source: GB/T 7727.1-2008, 4.6]

3.4 Sidewall hovercraft sidewalhovercraft Relying on the lift of the air cushion to support most of the weight of the hull, another small part of the weight of the ship is supported by buoyancy, and the hull cannot be completely separated from the air when sailing on the surface. 3.5 Full-lift hovercraft aircushionhovercraft A kind of hovercraft that helps the flexible apron to maintain the air cushion and supports the full weight of the air cushion.

3.6 Hydrofoilcraft When sailing in a non-draining state, a ship that can be supported above the water surface by the hydrodynamic lift generated by the hydrofoil.
