1 Scope

GB 38305-2025 is the Chinese national standard on head protection - rescue helmet, in the field of environment and health protection, safety. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 29 August 2025 by the Ministry of Emergency Management, and takes effect on 1 January 2027. Classification: ICS 13.340.20, CCS C73. This document defines the terms and definitions of rescue helmets, stipulates their classification and marking, technical requirements, signs and instructions for use, etc. The test method is described. This document is applicable to the head protection worn in production safety, road traffic, natural disasters and other accident rescue and related activities in industrial, mining and commercial enterprises. 3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 rescue helmetrescuehelmet Used in rescue and related activities to prevent or reduce the risk of injury from objects hitting, collision, impact, flames burning, falling (falling), etc. Protective equipment that does not cause head injuries.

Note. It is generally composed of a shell, a buffer layer, a headband, a locking device, a chin strap, etc.

3.2 shell Determine the main structure of the rescue helmet's appearance.

Note. The shell can be equipped with additional ventilation holes, top ribs and reserved accessory interfaces.

3.3 Top reinforcement A structure used to increase the strength of the top of the shell.

3.4 buffer layer protective layer A component installed on the inner surface of the rescue helmet shell to absorb impact energy.

3.5 Wearing system retention system The device is used to adjust the size of the head circumference and maintain the stability of the rescue helmet when worn.
