Scope

GB 38030.3-2019 is the English-translated version of 内河过闸运输船舶标准船型主尺度系列 第3部分:西江航运干线.

GB 38030.3-2019 is Part 3 of the Chinese mandatory series on the main dimensions of standard transport ship types passing the locks of inland rivers, covering the Xijiang main shipping line, the high-grade waterway from Nanning to Guangzhou.

It applies to new and reconstructed dry bulk carriers, liquid cargo ships, container ships and self-unloading sand carriers passing the ship locks of the Yongning, Xijin, Guigang, Guiping, Changzhou and other hydro-junctions on that line.

It repeats the definitions of overall length and overall breadth from GB 38030.1, sets the XJ ship type numbering, allows breadth to be reduced by up to 2% and length by up to 10%, and requires fixed and unlifted movable projections to be counted in the overall dimensions.

Three tables give the standard overall breadth and overall length of 18 ship types, from 10.0 m by 46.0 m up to 15.8 m by 90.0 m, with reference deadweight or container capacity; the breadth and length values are mandatory and the rest is recommended.

It is a first edition, issued on 29 July 2019 and in force since 1 February 2020. Classification: ICS 47.060, CCS U10. The document runs to 5 pages, delivered complete in English translation.
