GB 38030.1-2019 is the English-translated version of 内河过闸运输船舶标准船型主尺度系列 第1部分：长江水系.
GB 38030.1-2019 is Part 1 of the Chinese mandatory series on the main dimensions of standard transport ship types passing the locks of inland rivers, covering the Changjiang (Yangtze) River system.
It applies to new and reconstructed dry bulk carriers, chemical tankers, oil tankers, barges, container ships, ro-ro cargo ships and self-unloading sand carriers that pass ship locks, ship lifts and other navigation structures of the Changjiang main line and its branches, the Three Gorges ship lift excepted.
It defines overall length and overall breadth, sets the ship type numbering (CG for the main line, CZ for the branches, followed by a ship type letter and serial number), allows breadth to be reduced by up to 2% and length by up to 10%, and requires fixed and unlifted movable projections to be counted in the overall dimensions.
Eight tables give the standard overall breadth and overall length of each ship type, with breadths from 6.6 m to 16.3 m and lengths from 40.0 m to 130.0 m, with reference deadweight, container capacity or vehicle spaces; the breadth and length values are mandatory and the rest is recommended.

GB 38030, Dimensions series of standard transport ship types passing the locks of inland rivers, is divided into 5 parts:
- Part 1: Changjiang River system;
- Part 2: Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and Huai River system;
- Part 3: Xijiang main shipping line;
- Part 4: "Three lines" of the Pearl River system;
- Part 5: Heilongjiang-Songhuajiang.
This part is Part 1 of GB 38030.
