Foreword

This document was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020 "Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents".

This document replaces GB 22792.2-2008 "Office furniture -- Screens -- Part 2: Safety requirements", and partially replaces the relevant provisions of GB 26172.1-2010 "Foldaway beds -- Safety requirements and tests -- Part 1: Safety requirements", GB 24820-2009 "General technical requirements for laboratory furniture", GB 24977-2010 "General technical requirements for bathroom furniture", GB 24430.1-2009 "Test method for bunk bed structure safety", GB 28008-2011 "Technical specification for the safety of furniture structure", and GB 28478-2012 "Outdoor furniture - General technical requirements for tables and chairs".

conditions that allow safety barriers to be connected to buildings have been added. The length requirements for gaps in safety barriers that are interrupted by ladders or other means of entry and exit have been modified (see 4.2.5.1 of this Edition; 4.3 of GB 24430.1-2009);

1 Scope

This document specifies general safety requirements for furniture structures and product-specific structural safety requirements.

This document applies to furniture other than infant and children's furniture.
