Scope
GB 23468-2025 is the English-translated version of 坠落防护装备的选择、使用和维护.
GB 23468-2025 sets out how fall protection equipment is to be selected, used and maintained for work at height, covering safety belts (work positioning, restraint and fall arrest types), their harnesses, lanyards, energy absorbers, self-locking and self-retracting devices, connectors and anchor devices, as well as seat-board single-person suspended devices, descent devices, powered ascending and descending fall arrest devices, pole-climbing spurs and safety nets.
Clause 4 deals with selection: basic requirements with a flow chart for providing the equipment, fall hazard identification and risk assessment, identification of the clearance below the worker and of the free fall distance, and the choice of each component and of safety nets.
Clause 5 covers use, including training before use and the rules for each type of equipment, and Clause 6 covers maintenance of safety belts and safety nets; an informative annex explains how the clearance is identified.
It replaces the recommended standard GB/T 23468-2009 and is now mandatory: it adds the terms free fall, restricted fall and free fall distance, extends selection and use rules to energy absorbers, fall arresters, connectors, anchor devices, suspended seats and descent devices, and deletes the 2009 provisions on service life, periodic inspection and the example table of protective measures.
Issued on 29 August 2025, in force from 1 September 2026. Classification: ICS 13.340.99, CCS C73. The document runs to 31 pages, delivered complete in English translation.
