Scope
GB 14749-2006 is the English-translated version of 婴儿学步车安全要求.
GB 14749 sets the safety requirements for baby walkers, a product whose main hazard is that it lets a child who cannot yet walk reach a staircase at speed. The standard addresses exactly that: static and dynamic stability, the anti-collision space that stops the frame passing through a doorway or over a step edge, the collision strength, together with the materials and their transferable element limits, the metal surfaces, the structure, the static and dynamic strength, the flammability, the packaging films and the marking and instructions. Thirteen test methods verify them. Issued on 21 February 2006, in force since 1 January 2007, replacing GB 14749-1993. This page is published from the official record of the standard held by the Chinese standards administration: the identification, the dates, the classification and the edition it replaces are taken from there. The clause text, the tables and the numeric limits are not reproduced on this page — they are in the document itself, which is delivered in full in English translation.
