Foreword

Chapter 6 of this standard is mandatory, and the rest is recommended. This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This standard replaces GB 14035-1993 "Inland River life-saving floating cushion pillow cushion", compared with GB 14035-1993 The main technical changes are as follows:

--- Increased with retroreflective tape requirements (see 6.1.3);

1 Scope

GB 14035 covers a category of lifesaving equipment particular to inland navigation: the buoyant mattresses, pillows and seat cushions carried on river and lake vessels, which serve as ordinary furnishings in normal use and as flotation aids when the ship is abandoned. The standard sets the requirements for buoyancy and its retention over time, the materials and the filling, the strength of the covering and the seams, the resistance to oil, water and ageing, together with the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking that identifies the appliance as approved. It is mandatory for vessels on Chinese inland waterways. Issued on 6 February 2018, in force since 1 September 2018, replacing GB 14035-1993.
