GB 11779-2005 is the English-translated version of 东海、黄海区拖网网囊 最小网目尺寸.
GB 11779-2005 fixes the minimum mesh size of the cod-end of trawls fished in the East China Sea and Yellow Sea. It applies to cod-end trawls used by motorized fishing vessels on the continental shelf fishing grounds outside the fishing-prohibited zone lines of the two seas.
The minimum mesh size is 54 mm, measured on the single-layer cod-end after immersion in water and shrinkage; mesh size is expressed as the inside mesh opening defined in SC/T 5001, measured by the method of GB/T 6964 with the pretension of GB/T 6965.
It replaces GB 11779-1989: the cod-end structure has been adjusted, the mesh size raised to not less than 54 mm and double-layer cod-end netting prohibited; all its technical contents are mandatory.
Issued on 2 June 2005 and in force since 1 October 2005. Classification: ICS 65.150, CCS B56. The document runs to 3 pages, delivered complete in English translation.
