Scope

GB 10738-2007 is the English-translated version of 工作基准试剂含量测定通则称量滴定法.

GB 10738-2007 specifies the weight titration method for the assay of working chemicals (working reference reagents): the mass of the operating solution or reference solution is weighed on an analytical balance and the end point is determined with an indicator, with a relative standard deviation of 0.02%.

The value is transferred from a reference material of assay not less than 99.95% either through an operating solution, titrating reference material and sample alternately, or through a reference solution prepared by weighing; the standard sets the weighing accuracy (0.01 mg for solids, 0.1 mg for solutions, 23 g to 37 g of titrant consumed), the balance requirements, the titration procedure and the precision rule of two analysts with four parallel determinations each (repeatability critical ranges 0.069% and 0.082%).

It gives the calculation formulas with air-buoyancy correction, the expression of the expanded uncertainty of the result (generally not greater than 0.05%), and annexes on preparing the reference solution, the dimensions of the 100 mL weighing titration flask and 500 mL reaction flask, buoyancy correction and uncertainty evaluation.

It replaces GB 10738-1989, renaming the standard, deleting the reagents clause, adding general provisions and an expanded-uncertainty clause and revising the precision requirements and calculation formulas; subclauses 4.2, 4.3 and 4.5 and Clauses 6 and 7 are mandatory, the rest recommended.

This standard replaces GB 10738-1989, Working chemical (volumetric) - General rules for the weight titration method.

Compared with GB 10738-1989, the main changes in this standard are as follows:

- the title of the standard has been changed to Working chemical - General rules for assay - Weight titration;

- the scope of application has been modified (Clause 1 of the 1989 edition; Clause 1 of this edition);

- the clause "Reagents" has been deleted (Clause 4 of the 1989 edition);

- a clause "General provisions" has been added (Clause 4 of this edition);

- the requirements for the precision of the method have been adjusted (6.1 of the 1989 edition; 4.5 of this edition);

- the calculation formulas for the result have been modified (Clause 7 of the 1989 edition; Clause 7 of this edition);

- the clause "Precision and accuracy of the method" has been deleted (Clause 8 of the 1989 edition);

- a clause "Expanded uncertainty of the determination result" has been added (Clause 8 of this edition);

- "Preparation of the reference solution" has been added (Annex A of this edition);
