1 Scope

This document specifies the terms and definitions, standard sizing systems and specifications, requirements, tests, sampling rules, judgment rules, as well as product instructions for use, packaging, transportation, and storage for knitted quick-dry garments.

This document is applicable to quick-dry garments made primarily from knitted fabrics, as well as knitted quick-dry accessories such as headbands, neck gaiters, and arm sleeves.

This document is not applicable to knitted quick-dry garments and accessories for infants and young children aged 36 months or younger.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions are applicable to this document.

3.1 Knitted Quick-Dry Garments

Garments made primarily from knitted fabrics that possess moisture absorption and quick- drying properties.

3.2 Fluorescent Colour

The colour exhibited when certain substances absorb incident light of a specific wavelength, become excited, and emit visible light.

NOTE. The colour that fluoresces under ultraviolet light irradiation.

4 Standard Sizing Systems and Specifications for Products

The standard sizing systems for knitted quick-dry garments shall comply with the provisions of

GB/T 1335 (all parts) or GB/T 6411; sizes falling outside these ranges may be increased or decreased sequentially based on the grading increments and principles specified in the standards.

Specifications for knitted quick-dry accessories shall be expressed in centimeters, with dimensions for key areas (such as length × width, circumference, etc.) indicated according to design requirements.

5 Requirements

5.1 Grading Provisions

5.1.1 Quality grades are classified as superior grade, first grade, and qualified grade.

5.1.2 Quality grading. Intrinsic quality is graded by batch, while appearance quality is graded by individual item; the final grade is determined by the lower of the two.

5.1.3 For intrinsic quality indicators, the lowest inspection result shall serve as the basis for grading the product batch.

5.1.4 When appearance quality defects of different grades exist on the same product, the product shall be rated according to the lowest grade. Only two surface defects of the same grade are permitted on a single product; if this limit is exceeded, the product shall be downgraded by one grade.

5.3.4.1 Shoulder seams, crotch seams, and seam edges shall be reinforced.

5.3.4.2 Sewing threads (excluding decorative threads) used in the manufacture of the product

shall have strength, shrinkage, and color properties compatible with the fabric.

6 Tests

6.1 Intrinsic Quality Inspection

6.1.1 Preparation and test conditions

6.1.1.1 The specimens taken shall be free from defects that could affect the test results.

6.1.1.2 Prior to testing for dimensional change rate after washing and twist rate after washing, specimens shall be pre-conditioned in the standard atmosphere specified in GB/T 6529 for 4 h.

6.1.2 Test methods
6.1.2.1 Fiber content

Conduct testing in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 2910 (all parts), GB/T 38015, FZ/T

01026, FZ/T 01057 (all parts), FZ/T 01101, etc.

6.1.2.2 Formaldehyde content

Conduct testing in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 2912.1.

6.1.2.3 pH

Conduct testing in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 7573.

6.1.2.4 Odor

Conduct testing in accordance with the provisions of GB 18401.

6.1.2.5 Decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes

Conduct testing in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 17592.

6.1.2.6 Colour fastness to water

Conduct testing in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 5713.

6.1.2.7 Colour fastness to perspiration

Conduct testing in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 3922.

6.1.2.8 Colour fastness to rubbing

Conduct testing in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 3920; test only in the lengthwise direction.

6.1.2.9 Colour fastness to washing with soap or soap and soda

Conduct testing in accordance with the provisions of Test Method A (1) of GB/T 3921-2008.

6.1.2.10 Colour fastness to light

Conduct testing in accordance with the provisions of Method 3 of GB/T 8427-2019.If the difference in ratings between stages exceeds half a grade, the judgment shall be based on the average colour fastness to light.

6.1.2.11 Colour fastness to light of textiles wetted with artificial perspiration

Conduct testing in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 14576.

6.1.2.12 Colour fastness to transfer in joints

Conduct testing in accordance with the provisions of Method A of GB/T 31127-2014.If the specimen dimensions do not meet the requirement of (100±2) mm×(40±2) mm, the specimen may be cut according to the maximum dimensions of the actual specimen.

6.1.2.13 Bursting strength

Conduct testing in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 19976-2005; the steel ball diameter shall be (38±0.02) mm.

6.1.2.14 Pilling

Conduct testing in accordance with the provisions of Parameter E of GB/T 4802.1-2008; ratings shall be assessed in accordance with GSB 16-1523 Pilling standard of knitted fabric.

6.1.2.15 Seam strength of the back crotch seam

Conduct testing in accordance with the provisions of Method B of FZ/T 01031-2016.One specimen shall be taken from the area specified in Figure 1; the specimen width at the seam shall be appropriately increased to prevent unraveling from affecting the test results.
