1 Scope

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Collagen Collagen A family of secretory proteins containing at least 20 genetically distinct types that primarily provide structural support for the body. A unique triple helical structure consisting of three polypeptide chains (called alpha chains) with certain biological functions. [Source: YY/T 1849-2022, 3.1]
3.2 Collagen polymer Without the introduction of exogenous substances (such as cross-linking agents), collagen molecules are self-assembled or polymerized to form a polymer with a high-level structure. Compound.
3.3 The specific amino acid sequence of the triple helical structure of collagen is the basic sequence of the triple helical structure of natural collagen, usually "glycine- Proline-Hydroxyproline-"(Gly-XY).
3.4 Propeptide The amino- and carboxyl-terminal non-trimeric residues of individual collagen polypeptide chains (alpha chains) that direct triple helical folding and procollagen molecule formation Helical structure area.
