Scope
YY/T 1740.2-2021 is the English-translated version of 医用质谱仪 第2部分:基质辅助激光解吸电离飞行时间质谱仪.
YY/T 1740.2-2021 is the Chinese pharmaceutical industry standard for the clinical mass spectrometer that uses matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization with a time-of-flight analyser (MALDI-TOF MS), the instrument used above all to identify micro-organisms from their protein fingerprint and to examine nucleic acids from biological samples.
It is the second part of the YY/T 1740 series and sets the requirements and the test methods for the instrument - the mass range and mass accuracy, the resolution, the sensitivity and the repeatability of the spectra - together with the identification, labels and instructions and the rules for packaging, transport and storage. Issued on 6 September 2021, it has applied since 1 March 2023.

Foreword
YY/T 1740 "Medical Mass Spectrometer" is divided into 4 parts.
--- Part 1: Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry;
--- Part 2: Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometer;
--- Part 3: Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry;
--- Part 4: Inorganic mass spectrometers. This part is Part 2 of YY/T 1740.
This section is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This part of YY/T 1740 specifies the requirements, test methods, identification, Labels and instructions, packaging, transportation and storage.
This section applies to medical mass spectrometry using matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOFMS for short).
It is mainly used for the identification of microbial protein fingerprints of clinical samples, nucleic acid detection of biological samples, etc.
