Scope
YY/T 0495-2009 is the English-translated version of 牙根管充填尖.
YY/T 0495-2009 is the Chinese medical device standard for dental root canal obturating points. It covers the taper or cone size and the composition of preformed points made of metal or of a polymer matrix filling material, and it also sets a numerical sizing system and a matching color identification system.
Preformed crown tips or cones used to support a restoration are outside its scope. The points covered may be supplied sterile or non-sterile: the standard addresses only the physical characteristics of the product and sets no sterility requirements, so a manufacturer declaring its product sterile is responsible for that declaration.
Identical to ISO 6877-2006, it cites YY 0466-2003 and ISO 3665, and it replaces YY 0495-2004. Issued on 30 December 2009, it has applied since 1 June 2011.
