1 Scope

YY 1027-2001 is the 2001 edition of the Chinese pharmaceutical industry standard for dental alginate impression materials - the powders mixed with water that set into an elastic gel and are used to take impressions of teeth and oral tissues for study models, orthodontic appliances and dentures. An impression is only useful if the material sets in a predictable working time, reproduces detail and stays dimensionally stable until the model is poured, so manufacturers and dental buyers need common requirements and test methods for these products. This edition specified the requirements and test methods for alginate impression materials and replaced YY 91027-1999. It has been superseded by YY 1027-2018, Dentistry - Hydrocolloid impression materials, which covers alginate and agar materials and is also available on this site.
