YY 0271.2 is the mandatory standard for resin-modified glass ionomer and related water-based dental cements, the materials used to lute crowns and to restore teeth where a chemical bond to tooth structure and fluoride release matter more than maximum strength.

It is Part 2 of the Chinese water-based cement series, the counterpart of the powder-liquid acid-base cements in Part 1, and it corresponds to the international standard for the same materials.

The properties it controls are the ones a dentist experiences at the chair and the patient experiences afterwards: working and setting time, film thickness for luting, flexural strength, radiopacity and colour stability.
