It does not apply to determining the polybenzoate content of seal composite powders that contain carbohydrates or carbonates.

Producers of seal composite powders, thermal spray coating suppliers, users of sealing coatings, and testing laboratories can use it to determine the polymer content of a powder and to settle quality questions between supplier and buyer. It is a voluntary standard (code with /T). It was approved and issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on 15 July 2026 and takes effect on 1 February 2027. Laboratories should note the stated exclusion before choosing this method for a given powder.
