This standard specifies the method for ultrasonic testing of tungsten, molybdenum and their alloy rods and tubes using the Type A pulse-echo ultrasonic technique. This standard applies to ultrasonic testing of tungsten, molybdenum and their alloy rods with a diameter of 16 mm to 150 mm prepared by powder metallurgy, as well as tungsten, molybdenum and their alloys with an outer diameter of 30 mm to 100 mm and a wall thickness to outer diameter ratio of less than 0.22 Ultrasonic testing of pipes.
