YD/T 7056-2026 specifies the technical requirements for white box access equipment used in cloud-based metropolitan area networks. The requirements include software functions and performance, hardware communication interfaces, communication protocols and environment requirements. It applies to the research and development, construction, operation, testing and evaluation of white box IP access equipment.

The document is used by network operators, network builders, equipment manufacturers and third-party assessment bodies. A white box device separates hardware from software, and this document sets the technical points that operators and manufacturers need to agree on when such access equipment is used in a metropolitan network. It is a voluntary standard issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on 1 June 2026 and effective from 1 September 2026. It is a new standard.
