Scope
YD/T 7004-2026 is the English-translated version of 自动组播隧道(AMT)协议技术要求.
This document specifies the technical requirements for the Automatic Multicast Tunneling (AMT) protocol. AMT allows multicast traffic to reach hosts and networks that are connected through parts of the network without multicast support. The requirements cover the protocol architecture, the protocol control messages, and the protocol operation of gateway devices and relay devices. The document serves as guidance for the design and implementation of the AMT protocol, and for the design, development and testing of network devices that run it.
Manufacturers and developers of routers and other network devices, test laboratories, and operators that deliver multicast services are typical users. The standard is voluntary, as the /T in its code shows. It was issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on 1 June 2026 and takes effect on 1 September 2026. It is a new standard.
