Scope
YD/T 6997-2026 is the English-translated version of 承载远程直接内存访问(RDMA)的广域网技术要求.
YD/T 6997-2026 sets out the technical requirements for wide area networks that carry Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) traffic. It covers the demand scenarios, and the wide area network requirements for carrying InfiniBand, RDMA over Converged Ethernet version 2 (RoCEv2) and Internet Wide Area RDMA Protocol (iWARP). The document applies to the design, product development and testing of wide area networks that carry RDMA.
The standard is used by network equipment manufacturers, by telecommunications operators that build long-distance links between computing sites, and by test teams that check whether a network can carry RDMA traffic. It is voluntary, as the /T in its code shows. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued it on 1 June 2026, and it takes effect on 1 September 2026. It is a new standard, so it does not replace an earlier edition.
