Scope
YD/T 6995-2026 is the English-translated version of IPv6组播源路由(MSR6)数据转发技术要求.
YD/T 6995-2026 specifies the requirements for data forwarding in IPv6 Multicast Source Routing (MSR6). It covers the format of the data packet, the data forwarding table and the operating process of data forwarding. In plain terms, it describes how an MSR6 device reads the packet, looks up its forwarding information and sends the packet onward. The document is used as guidance for the data plane forwarding design, development and testing of IPv6 multicast source routing equipment.
Manufacturers and developers of routers and other network devices use it when they design and implement MSR6 forwarding, and test teams use it when they check that behaviour. Network operators can refer to it when they assess equipment. The standard is voluntary, as the /T in its code shows. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued it on 1 June 2026, and it takes effect on 1 September 2026. It is a new standard.
