YD/T 6993-2026 specifies the technical requirements for the northbound management interface of a Virtual Broadband Remote Access Server (vBRAS) system in a cloud-based metropolitan area network. The requirements include protocol requirements, and northbound management interface requirements for the vBRAS control plane, the forwarding plane in virtual network element form, the forwarding plane in dedicated network element form, and the cloud management system. The document applies to the research and development, testing and application of vBRAS systems in cloud metro networks and of their management and control systems.

It is used by equipment and software vendors, by operators who run broadband access networks, and by test teams checking interface behaviour. The standard is voluntary, as the /T in its code shows. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued it on 1 June 2026, and it takes effect on 1 September 2026. It is a new standard.
