YD/T 6951-2026 sets general technical requirements for the API interface between a multi-access edge computing (MEC) platform and an application, known as the Mp1 interface. The requirements cover the application enablement API, the bandwidth management service API, the UE identity API, the location service API and the mobility service API.

The document applies to the research, development and testing of the interface between an edge computing platform and its applications. It is used by developers of MEC platforms and edge applications, by telecom operators, by equipment vendors and by test laboratories. It is a voluntary standard, as shown by the /T in its code. It was approved and issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on 1 June 2026 and takes effect on 1 September 2026. It is a new standard.
