YD/T 6896-2026 is the English-translated version of 数字身份 分布式服务总体框架.

The document sets out the model, the system framework and the functions of distributed services for digital identity. It applies to the design, construction and application of digital identity distributed service systems that are built on a national-level authoritative identity authentication platform. In plain terms, it describes how identity services are structured and spread across a system, and what each part of that system must do.

It is used by system designers and builders, by the operators of digital identity service platforms, and by organizations that apply these services in their own systems. It is a voluntary standard issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on 1 June 2026 and effective from 1 September 2026. It is a new standard, and it gives developers and operators a shared reference when they plan identity services of this kind.
