YD/T 6869-2026 is the English-translated version of 车云通信密码应用基本要求.

YD/T 6869-2026 specifies the basic technical and management requirements for the application of cryptography in the communication between intelligent connected vehicles and Internet of Vehicles platforms. It deals with the vehicle-to-cloud link, in which a vehicle exchanges data with a cloud platform, and sets out what cryptographic protection is to be provided on that link. The document is used to guide and regulate the planning, construction, operation and evaluation of cryptography applications for this communication.

Users are vehicle manufacturers, suppliers of in-vehicle communication units, operators of Internet of Vehicles platforms, security designers and evaluation bodies. It is a voluntary standard (code with /T). It was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued on 15 April 2026 and takes effect on 1 August 2026. It is a new standard.
