YD/T 6862-2026 specifies the basic requirements for cryptography application in the 5G core network. It covers the 5G core network framework, the technical and management needs for cryptography application, the general requirements, and the technical requirements for cryptography application at the second, third and fourth levels. It guides and regulates the planning, construction, operation and evaluation of cryptography application in the 5G core network.

Telecom operators, core network equipment manufacturers, cryptography solution providers and evaluation bodies are the main users. It is a voluntary standard (code with /T) approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It was issued on 15 April 2026 and takes effect on 1 August 2026. It is a new standard and replaces no earlier edition. The English translation gives foreign suppliers and assessors the complete requirements by level, which helps them align products and test plans with Chinese 5G core network practice.
