YD/T 6858-2026 specifies the capability requirements for a cloud web application firewall. The requirements fall into five areas: service access, security protection, general security capability, performance and scalability, and reliability. The document applies to cloud web application firewall service providers when they design and implement product functions, and it can also serve third-party testing bodies as a specification when they assess the design and implementation of these product functions.

Service providers, product developers and independent test laboratories are the main readers. It is a voluntary standard (code with /T) approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It was issued on 15 April 2026 and takes effect on 1 August 2026. It is a new standard and replaces no earlier edition. The English translation allows international vendors and assessors to read all five areas of capability requirements as set by the Chinese telecom sector.
