YD/T 6838-2026 specifies the technical requirements for traffic screening in the Internet of Things, together with the test methods used to check them. It applies to the work that basic telecom enterprises do on IoT traffic screening capability: planning, design, evaluation and testing.

The standard is useful to basic telecom operators that plan or operate traffic screening for connected devices, to equipment and system suppliers who design it, and to laboratories that test it. It is voluntary, as the /T in its code shows, and was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The issue date is 15 April 2026 and the effective date is 1 August 2026. It is a new standard. The English translation makes the technical requirements and the test methods available to foreign suppliers who want to understand what Chinese telecom operators expect from this capability.
