YD/T 6816-2026 is the English-translated version of 车联网供应链网络安全风险管理准则.

YD/T 6816-2026 gives an overview of the parties in the supply chain of the Internet of Vehicles, the cybersecurity risk elements of that supply chain and their management. It sets out the objectives of cybersecurity risk management for the Internet of Vehicles supply chain and specifies the risk management requirements and the implementation method. It applies to Internet of Vehicles enterprises that manage supply chain cybersecurity risk, namely vehicle manufacturers, suppliers of core components and equipment systems, Internet of Vehicles service providers, and logistics, distribution and sales businesses. It also serves as a reference for third-party testing and assessment bodies that evaluate such risk.

The standard is voluntary (code with /T). It was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued on 15 April 2026 and takes effect on 1 August 2026. It is a new standard. Purchasers and compliance teams in the automotive supply chain can also use it to frame supplier requirements.
