YD/T 6804-2026 is the English-translated version of 图像视频深度合成鉴伪检测算法引擎安全性评测方法.

YD/T 6804-2026 sets out the key factors that affect the security of algorithm engines used to detect deepfakes in images and videos, together with the security evaluation method and the evaluation indicators for such engines. A deepfake detection engine is the software component that judges whether an image or video has been forged by deep synthesis techniques, and the document describes how the security of that component is to be assessed. It is meant to guide developers, operators and users of these engines when they carry out security evaluation during development, operation and use, and it also applies to evaluation tasks performed by third-party evaluators.

The standard is voluntary, as the /T in its code shows. Engine developers, operators who run detection services, organisations that rely on detection results and independent evaluation bodies are its natural readers. It was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued on 15 April 2026 and takes effect on 1 August 2026. It is a new standard.
