YD/T 6798-2026 is the English-translated version of 移动通信终端地理位置信息呈现技术要求和测试方法.

This document specifies the principles for presenting geographic location information on mobile communication terminals, together with technical requirements for accuracy and test methods. It applies to the presentation of location information by the operating system and preinstalled applications of mobile communication terminals. Other third-party applications may also refer to it when presenting location information.

Terminal manufacturers, operating system and application developers and test laboratories can use it. It is a voluntary industry standard, as the /T in the code shows. It was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued on 15 April 2026 and takes effect on 1 August 2026. It is a new standard.
