YD/T 6786-2026 specifies equipment technical requirements for access of non-5G-capable devices over WLAN (N5CW devices) to the 5G core network in Industrial Internet applications. It mainly covers the system architecture, equipment functional requirements, interface requirements, key procedures and performance requirements. It applies as a reference for the development and testing of equipment involved in N5CW device access to the 5G core network.

Equipment manufacturers, developers and test laboratories are typical users. It is a voluntary industry standard, as the /T in its code shows. It was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued on 15 April 2026 and takes effect on 1 August 2026. It is a new standard.
