The document sets out the general technical requirements for access of non-5G-capable devices over WLAN (N5CW devices) to the 5G core network in Industrial Internet applications. It mainly covers typical scenarios and service needs, the system architecture, system functional requirements, interface requirements and protocol stack, and network management requirements. It applies to deploying N5CW device access to the 5G core network and to developing and testing the related equipment.

Telecom operators, core network and WLAN equipment vendors, and test laboratories can use it. It is a voluntary industry standard (code with /T). It was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued on 15 April 2026 and takes effect on 1 August 2026. It is a new standard.
