This document sets out the general requirements for testing the electrical performance of passive transmission devices that carry signals in the transverse electromagnetic (TEM) or quasi-TEM mode in wireless communication systems. It applies to electrical performance testing of microstrip lines, striplines, coplanar waveguides, coaxial connectors and coaxial cables used in such systems. As Part 1 of the series, it gives the general principles that the later parts build on.

Manufacturers of passive devices and cables, test laboratories and wireless equipment makers can use it as a basis for planning and carrying out electrical measurements. It is a voluntary industry standard (code with /T). It was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued on 15 April 2026 and takes effect on 1 August 2026. It is a new standard.
