YD/T 6766-2026 is the English-translated version of 人工智能 关键基础技术 大模型分类方法和分级技术要求.

YD/T 6766-2026 specifies the classification method for large-scale models and the technical requirements for grading them. The grading requirements are set out from four aspects: technical capability, product capability, application capability and security capability. It applies to technology providers in the planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of large models.

Developers and operators of large models, platform providers and evaluation bodies will use it to classify and grade models in a consistent way. It is a voluntary industry standard (YD/T) approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and prepared within the China Communications Standards Association. It was issued on 11 March 2026 and takes effect on 1 June 2026. It is a new standard and does not replace an earlier edition.
