YD/T 6725-2026 sets out the requirements for describing hardware bill of materials information of box-type routers and non-cluster chassis-type routers. It covers an overview of routers, the composition and classification of the hardware materials, the layering of components and the parameters of their constituent devices, the specification for describing hardware material information, and general safety requirements. It applies to router equipment in the domestic communications industry and provides description samples of hardware material information for box-type routers and non-cluster chassis-type routers, for use when a manufacturer supplies customers with whole-machine hardware material descriptions.

Router manufacturers, telecom operators, enterprise buyers and procurement and maintenance staff are the intended users. It is a voluntary industry standard (code with /T) of the communications sector, approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It was issued on 11 March 2026 and takes effect on 1 June 2026. It is a new standard that replaces no earlier edition.
