YD/T 6724-2026 is the English-translated version of 交换机硬件物料信息描述要求.

YD/T 6724-2026 sets out the requirements for describing hardware bill of materials information of box-type and chassis-type switches. It covers an overview of switches, the composition and classification of the hardware materials, the layering of components and the parameters of their constituent devices, the specification for describing hardware material information, and general safety requirements. It applies to switch equipment in the domestic communications industry and provides description samples of hardware material information for box-type and chassis-type switches, for use when a manufacturer supplies customers with whole-machine hardware material descriptions.

Switch manufacturers, telecom operators and enterprise buyers, and procurement and maintenance staff can use it to exchange hardware information in a uniform way. It is a voluntary industry standard (code with /T) of the communications sector, approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It was issued on 11 March 2026 and takes effect on 1 June 2026. It is a new standard.
