YD/T 6713-2026 specifies the requirements for quantifying the carbon footprint of data transmission and exchange equipment. It covers the goal and scope of the study, the inventory analysis, the impact assessment, the interpretation of results, and the product carbon footprint report and declaration. It applies to carbon footprint quantification studies of data transmission and exchange equipment, which includes, but is not limited to, gateways, access network equipment and similar products, together with their accessories. Switches and routers are not included.

Equipment manufacturers, sustainability and product environmental staff, verifiers and operators that need product carbon data from suppliers can apply it. It is a voluntary industry standard (code with /T) of the communications sector, approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It was issued on 11 March 2026 and takes effect on 1 June 2026. It is a new standard that replaces no earlier edition.
