YD/T 6708.1-2026 is the English-translated version of 基于高斯调制相干态协议的量子密钥分发（QKD）用关键器件和模块 第1部分：光源.

This part of the YD/T 6708 series covers the laser source used in quantum key distribution (QKD) systems based on the Gaussian modulation coherent state protocol. It defines the terms and definitions for the light source device and specifies technical requirements including the photoelectric characteristics, the outline dimensions and environmental compliance. It describes the corresponding test methods and sets out the inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage. It applies to the design, development, production and testing of light sources for QKD based on this protocol.

Laser module makers, QKD system developers, test laboratories and buyers of optical components can use it to specify and check the source. It is a voluntary industry standard (code with /T) of the communications sector. It was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued on 11 March 2026 and takes effect on 1 June 2026. It is a new standard.
