YD/T 6704-2026 specifies the technical requirements for the Mk interface of a quantum key distribution (QKD) network. The Mk interface sits between the network management system and the key manager. The document covers the functional requirements of the interface, the data requirements, the interaction procedures, the communication protocol and the alarm handling mechanism. It applies to the development and use of the interface through which the network management system and the key manager collect data from each other and carry out interactive operations.

The standard is used by developers of QKD network management systems and key managers, by equipment suppliers integrating the two, and by network operators who deploy and run QKD networks. It is a voluntary industry standard of the communications sector (the code carries the /T suffix). It was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued on 11 March 2026 and takes effect on 1 June 2026. It is a new standard and does not replace an earlier edition.
