YD/T 6659-2026 specifies the technical requirements for protecting user personal information with differential privacy. It covers the technical architecture of a differential privacy system, differential privacy capability requirements, the grading of differential privacy protection, and the assessment of protection effect. The document applies to differential privacy technology used on smart mobile terminals, and also to assessment bodies that evaluate how well differential privacy products protect personal information.

The standard is used by developers of mobile terminals, applications and privacy-protection products, by assessment and testing bodies, and by organizations that handle user data and need to select or judge such technology. It is a voluntary standard, as shown by the /T in its code. It was issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on 11 March 2026 and takes effect on 1 June 2026. It is a new standard.
