YD/T 6639-2026 describes typical application scenarios and the matching technical requirements for using 5G together with the industrial internet in aviation manufacturing. The scenarios are organized along the stages of design and development, equipment manufacturing, production management, quality control, test flight and trials, and aviation operations. The document applies to the design and deployment of applications such as 5G smart design, 5G smart manufacturing, 5G smart testing and 5G smart operations in the aviation manufacturing field.

The standard is used by aircraft and component manufacturers, by network and solution providers working on factory and test-site connectivity, and by system integrators planning 5G deployments. It is a voluntary standard, as shown by the /T in its code. It was issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on 11 March 2026 and takes effect on 1 June 2026. It is a new standard.
