YD/T 4394.9-2026 sets out the indicator requirements and evaluation methods for opinion mining systems, meaning systems that can accept text input, carry out sentiment analysis and present the results through visual display. It describes the basic framework of an opinion mining system, gives an overview of the evaluation method, and then defines the individual indicator items together with the way each one is evaluated.

The document is intended to guide third-party testing and evaluation bodies when they assess and accept opinion mining systems. Developers of such systems and organizations that buy them can also use it to understand how a system will be judged. It is a voluntary standard, as shown by the /T in its code. It was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued on 1 June 2026 and takes effect on 1 September 2026. It is a new standard and does not replace an earlier edition.
