Part 3 of the series on optical transceiver modules for optical communications describes test methods for the basic parameters of phase-modulation optical transceiver modules. The methods cover testing of the transmitting part, testing of the receiving part, link testing and testing of general parameters. The document applies to the design, development, production, use and inspection of phase-modulation optical transceiver modules used in optical communications.

It is useful to module designers and manufacturers, test laboratories, equipment makers that integrate such modules, and network operators or buyers who verify module performance. YD/T 2798.3-2026 is a voluntary standard (code with /T). It was approved and issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on 1 June 2026, was prepared under the China Communications Standards Association, and takes effect on 1 September 2026.
