Part 6 of the YD/T 2019 series describes test methods for fiber-to-the-room (FTTR) residential equipment, that is, the home-use devices of a fiber-to-the-room network. The tests cover hardware interfaces, equipment functions and performance.

The document applies to the research and development, production and testing of FTTR residential equipment in broadband customer networks based on the public telecommunication network, and private telecommunication networks may also refer to it. It is used by equipment manufacturers, test laboratories and telecom operators that check devices before purchase or deployment. It is a voluntary standard, as shown by the /T in its code. It was approved and issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on 1 June 2026 and takes effect on 1 September 2026. It is a new standard.
