This standard applies to the design, manufacture, and inspection of halogen-free low-smoke flame-retardant materials for the insulation and sheathing of flame-retardant communication cables and optical fibers. For halogen-free, low-smoke flame-retardant materials used in the insulation and sheathing of cables with rated voltages of 3kV and below, as well as halogen-free, low-smoke flame-retardant materials and halogen-free, low-smoke flame-retardant elastomer materials used in tight-buffered optical fibers and secondary fiber coatings, the following can be used as a reference:
