YB/T 6516-2026 is the English-translated version of 大型锻钢支承辊再制造技术规范.

YB/T 6516-2026 sets out technical specifications for the remanufacturing of large forged steel backup rolls, the rolls that support the work rolls in rolling mills. It covers terms and definitions, technical requirements for remanufacturing, inspection rules and test methods for finished remanufactured backup rolls, the quality certificate, and marking and packaging. It applies to repair and remanufacturing of scrapped large forged steel backup rolls with a roll body diameter of 1000 mm or more, for mills other than wide and heavy plate mills; additive repair of the roll body is excluded.

Rolling mill operators, roll repair and remanufacturing companies and quality inspectors can use it. It is a voluntary standard, as the /T in its code shows. It was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued on 15 July 2026 and takes effect on 1 February 2027. It is a new standard.
