YB/T 6509-2026 is the English-translated version of 石墨烯薄膜覆盖度测定 扫描电子显微镜法.

YB/T 6509-2026 specifies a scanning electron microscopy method for measuring the coverage of graphene film. It covers sample preparation, measurement by scanning electron microscope (SEM), image processing, calculation of coverage, evaluation of uncertainty, a measurement example and the test report. It applies to graphene films prepared by chemical vapor deposition and grown on various metal substrates that are not fully covered because of the growth process, with a domain spacing of not more than 200 µm. Graphene films prepared by other methods may refer to it.

Graphene producers, materials research institutes and testing laboratories can use it to report coverage in a consistent way. It is a voluntary standard, as the /T in its code indicates. It was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued on 15 July 2026 and takes effect on 1 February 2027. It is a new standard.
